Gorontalo, October 17, 2025, The Geography Education Student Association (HIMAGI/HMPS) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Gorontalo State University successfully held the Basic Leadership Training (LDK) for New Students of Geography Education in 2025 with the theme "Fostering the Spirit of Leadership and Organization in the Framework of Geography Science." This activity was carried out for three days, starting from October 17-19, 2025, at the UNG FMIPA Hall and the Library Field. This year's LDK was attended by 25 new students of the Geography Education Study Program class of 2025 with high enthusiasm and extraordinary enthusiasm. In his remarks delivered by the vice dean 3 of student affairs, Dr. Lilan Dama, S,Pd., M.Pd, said that LDK activities are not only a place for leadership development, but also a space for character formation and identity of geography students. "Through this activity, we want to form students who are not only academically intelligent, but also have strong leadership, integrity, and social responsibility character".

LDK activities are filled with various interesting sessions such as leadership materials, organizational management, effective communication, strengthening geographical values, as well as outbound activities and reflection on the values of togetherness. The speakers who attended included lecturers, HIMAGI alumni, and practitioners of university-level student organizations. In addition to equipping new students with leadership skills, this activity is also a means of strengthening solidarity between generations and introducing academic and organizational culture within the Geography Education Study Program.
