Gorontalo — The Geography Education Study Program held a EDU-TALK GEO Webinar with the theme "Getting to Know Development Research and Its Stages" on Saturday, July 15, 2025. This activity was held as part of strengthening research methodology insights for students and lecturers, especially in understanding research and development concepts and procedures.
This webinar was attended by students and lecturers with high enthusiasm because the themes raised were very relevant to academic needs, especially in the preparation of final projects and the development of learning innovations. In this activity, participants gained an understanding of the nature of development research, its characteristics, and its differences with other types of research. Development research is understood as a research approach that not only produces data or findings, but also produces products that can be used in the learning process and solving educational problems.

The webinar material discusses various stages of systematic development research, ranging from problem identification, needs analysis, product design, expert validation, trials, revisions, to product implementation. Participants were also given an overview of the development of learning media, modules, teaching tools, and educational applications that can be used as research outputs. This approach is considered important because it encourages students to produce innovative and applicable works.
Through this EDU-TALK GEO webinar, the Geography Education Study Program hopes that students will better understand the development research process comprehensively and be able to apply it in their academic and research activities. This activity is also part of the study program's commitment to improving the quality of research culture, learning innovation, and academic competence of students in the Geography Education environment.
