Boalemo, Wednesday, November 26, 2025; The 2025 Boalemo Regency Spatial Data and Network Node Preparation Workshop was officially opened, presenting the main speaker Dr. Eng. Sri Maryati, S.Si, an expert in geographic information systems and national spatial data governance. This workshop is designed as an intensive work session. The participants were invited to understand spatial data curation techniques, metadata standards, and sharing mechanisms through the National Geospatial Information Network (JIGN). Some participants looked enthusiastic when the practice session started whether it was because of an interesting technical challenge or because Dr. Sri explained the material in a straightforward but friendly style, perhaps both. Participants were invited to directly check the quality of the map layer, check the accuracy of the coordinates, and assess the consistency of the data format that has been used by each OPD.
In her presentation, Dr. Eng. Sri Maryati, S.Si emphasized that integrated spatial data management is an absolute requirement to realize effective, transparent, and sustainable development planning. He described how the local government network node should not only be a data collection center, but also a vehicle for cross-sectoral synergy. "Without neat data and speaking the same language, coordination between agencies can run lame," he said, while showing several examples of planning cases that failed due to synchronous data.

This activity is also a momentum for Boalemo Regency to strengthen the capacity of human resources in the geospatial field. The local government has high hopes that the preparation of official network nodes can be completed according to the 2025 target, so that the use of spatial data can support priority programs such as spatial planning, disaster mitigation, natural resource management, and the improvement of map-based public services. "Boalemo has great potential, it's just a matter of how we organize the information so that it is easy to analyze and easy to share," Dr. Sri emphasized in the discussion session.
Towards the closing, participants agreed that this workshop is not just a routine agenda, but a real step towards more modern and transparent data governance. With the spirit of collaboration, the activity is expected to be a strong foundation for the development of Boalemo Regency's Spatial Data Infrastructure (IDS) in 2025 and beyond.
