Gorontalo, September 2024 – The Geography Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo has actively participated in the senate election and lecturer career development meeting which took place on September 3, 2024 at the Department of Earth Sciences and Technology. This activity aims to strengthen the role of lecturers in making strategic policies for the university and increase the potential of academic careers through various development programs offered.

The election of senate members is carried out democratically, with the involvement of Geography Education lecturers. This meeting not only discussed the election of new senate members who will represent the voices of lecturers, but also strategies to support lecturer career development through continuing education, research, and community service. two elected lecturers from Geography Education and 1 Geological Engineering as members of the senate representing, namely:

1. Dr. Sunarty Suly Eraku, S.Pd., M.Pd.

2. Dr. Eng. Sri Maryati, S.Si.

3. Dr.Sc. Yayu Indriati Arifin, S.Pd., M.Si.

In the meeting, various initiatives that support lecturers to continue their S3 education, obtain research grants, and develop national and international cooperation networks were also discussed. This program is expected to strengthen the academic position of lecturers and improve the quality of education and research at the university, especially in the field of education and geography.

With this active participation, the Geography Education Study Program hopes to continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the university and provide broad benefits for lecturers, students, and the wider community.
