Gorontalo, September 01, 2025, Students of the Geography Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Gorontalo State University (UNG) became partners of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in the 2025 Patriot Expedition organized by the Ministry of Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia. The Patriot Expedition is a national program involving students from various universities in Indonesia, aiming to support the development of transmigration areas through field studies, community empowerment, and exploration of regional potential. This activity requires the active involvement of participants in research, mentoring, and service in transmigration target areas.

Through their involvement in the 2025 Patriot Expedition, UNG Geography Education students are expected to be able to apply geography in a real context, ranging from mapping the potential of the region, environmental analysis, to community socio-economic empowerment. The participation of Geography Education Students represented by Mohd. Kahirul Nizam, Tegar Botutihe, Sahriyanto Maku and M. Rejki Zakaria not only raised the name of the Geography Education Study Program, but also inspired other students to be active in national and international programs that encourage the spirit of service and research.
