Gorontalo, January 2025 – The Geography Education Study Program of Gorontalo State University (UNG) held a Debriefing and Release of the 2022 Field Work Lecture (KKL) which will depart for Malino, South Sulawesi, with the theme "Going To Makassar Field Work Lecture." This activity took place on Monday, August 14, 2024, in Classroom 3.1 of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNG and was attended by faculty leaders, supervisors, and students participating in the KKL.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Fitryane Lihawa, M.Si, said that KKL is an important part of the curriculum that aims to provide a direct learning experience to students. "This MPA will be an opportunity for students to apply the theories that have been learned in class to practice in the field, especially in the fields of physical geography, regional planning, and ecotourism potential," she said.
A total of 37 students will depart for Malino, South Sulawesi, one of the mountainous areas known for its natural beauty and ecotourism and agricultural potential. Some of the main agendas in this MPA activity include: Physical Geography Observation, Exploration of Malino Highlands Tea Plantation, Geotourism Potential Study: Malino Pine Forest as a sustainable tourist destination and Social & Economic Interaction of Local Communities.
With this release, students are expected to be able to implement geography theory in a real context and increase their insight into the physical and social aspects of the Malino area. This KKL activity will last for 4 days and ends with a report on the results of the KKL which will later be reported to each DPL lecturer.
