Gorontalo — The Geography Education Study Program held a EDU-TALK GEO Webinar with the theme "Simulation of the Flood Distribution Model in Bone Bolango" on Wednesday, May 13, 2025. This activity is an academic forum that aims to increase students' understanding of disaster modeling, especially spatial analysis of the potential and distribution of floods in the Bone Bolango area.

This webinar was attended by students and lecturers of the geography education study program of FMIPA UNG. The theme raised is considered very relevant considering that floods are one of the disasters that often occur and have a big impact on the environment and people's lives. In this activity, participants gained an understanding of the basic concepts of flood model simulation, factors that cause flooding, and the use of geospatial data in the spatial analysis process.

This activity provides a practical overview of the application of spatial analysis in disaster studies. Students are invited to understand that geography has a strategic role in examining the relationship between the physical condition of the area and human activities on potential disasters. Learning like this makes students not only understand concepts in class, but also able to see how geography is applied to answer real problems in society.

Through the implementation of this EDU-TALK GEO Webinar, the Geography Education Study Program hopes that students can improve their insights and skills in the field of geospatial and disaster mitigation. This activity is also part of an effort to strengthen student competence so that they are better prepared to face the challenges of environmental management and geography-based disasters in the future.
