Gorontalo — The Geography Education Study Program held a EDU-TALK GEO Webinar with the theme "The Application of a Wordwall-based Game Based Learning Model" on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. This activity was held as part of an effort to improve the competence of students and lecturers in developing learning innovations that are interactive, creative, and in accordance with the development of educational technology.
This webinar was attended by students and lecturers with enthusiasm, considering that the game-based learning model is increasingly being applied to increase student engagement and learning motivation. In this activity, participants gained an understanding of the basic concept of game-based learning and the use of the Wordwall platform as a digital learning medium that can be used to create a more interesting and fun learning atmosphere.

The webinar material discussed various forms of the application of Wordwall in geography learning, ranging from interactive quizzes, concept matching games, evaluation exercises, to challenge-based learning activities that encourage active participation of students. Participants were also given an explanation of the steps to design Wordwall-based learning media to suit the learning objectives and characteristics of the material being taught. In addition, this activity emphasizes the importance of learning innovation in the digital era to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process. The game-based learning approach is seen as able to create a more meaningful learning experience because students not only passively receive the material, but also directly engage in interactive learning activities.
Through this EDU-TALK GEO webinar, the Geography Education Study Program hopes that students and lecturers will be more skilled in utilizing digital technology as an innovative learning medium. This activity is also part of the study program's commitment to supporting the development of learning that is creative, adaptive, and relevant to educational needs in the era of digital transformation.
