Geography Education Enlivens the 10th ITK FMIPA UNG Department

Gorontalo, October 2, 2024 – The Geography Education Study Program of Gorontalo State University (UNG) took part in the celebration of the 10th Birthday (Harlah) of the Department of Earth Sciences and Technology (ITK) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNG. The event which was held on Monday and Tuesday (1-2/10) at the FMIPA Campus 4 Hall, the Harlah event was lively and attended by lecturers, students, and the academic community from various departments who gathered to celebrate a decade of achievements and contributions of the ITK Department in the development of earth sciences.

This Harlah celebration activity carries the theme "Technological Innovation in Collaboration with ITK to Realize Superior and Competitive International Standards," which reflects ITK's commitment to supporting sustainable education in the field of geoscience. Geography Education, as part of the earth science community at UNG, plays an active role by presenting various activities that enrich the celebration.

 

To enliven the celebration, Geography Education students performed dances presented by the class of 2024 and other performances that showed students' talents in enlivening the ITK Department's Harlah. One of the highlight events in this Harlah celebration is the cutting of tumpeng as a symbol of gratitude for ITK's ten-year journey. Representatives from each department, including Geography Education, attended this session to strengthen the brotherhood between departments under the auspices of FMIPA. This celebration is a momentum to strengthen the commitment to building better earth science, for a sustainable future.
