Gorontalo — The Geography Education S1 Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Gorontalo State University held a Socialization of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. This activity is part of the study program's efforts to strengthen the implementation of quality culture and increase the understanding of lecturers and education staff regarding the importance of a quality assurance system in the implementation of higher education.

The socialization of SPMI was carried out as a forum to equalize perceptions about the implementation of quality assurance at the study program level. This activity discusses various important aspects, ranging from quality policies, higher education quality standards, SPMI implementation mechanisms, to evaluation and follow-up in order to improve the quality of the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. With the same understanding, all academics are expected to be able to play an active role in realizing quality and sustainable study program governance.

In this activity, participants gained an understanding of the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) as the core of the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System. This cycle is the foundation in ensuring that every standard that has been set can be implemented consistently, evaluated periodically, and improved continuously to produce increasingly quality academic services.

Through this socialization activity, the Geography Education S1 Study Program, FMIPA, Gorontalo State University affirmed its commitment to continue to strengthen the quality culture as part of improving the quality of higher education. It is hoped that the sustainable implementation of SPMI can support the achievement of the study program's vision, increase stakeholder satisfaction, and strengthen the competitiveness of Geography Education graduates at the national and international levels.
