Gorontalo — A proud achievement was once again made by students of the Geography Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Gorontalo State University (UNG). Is Igirisa, a student of Geography Education, won a Gold Medal at the Essay Competition held in the Malang Edu Fest 2026 series at the National Institute of Technology (ITN) Malang, on May 24-25, 2026. This success is proof that Geography Education students not only excel in academic activities on campus, but are also able to compete and excel at the national level. The essay competition was attended by students from various universities in Indonesia who submitted innovative ideas and solutions to various development, education, environmental, and social issues.

The achievement of this gold medal is the result of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of students in developing academic capacity outside of lecture activities. In addition to being a pride for the Geography Education Study Program, this achievement is also a motivation for other students to continue to develop their potential through various academic and scientific competitions.
