Gorontalo, [19 May 2025] – In commemoration of Earth Day, the Geography Student Association (HIMAGI) of Gorontalo State University carried out tree planting activities and social service as a form of concern for the environment. This activity took place in the FMIPA campus 4 area and Moutong Village by involving students, lecturers, and the surrounding community for social service activities.
Hundreds of tree seedlings were planted as an effort to reforest and conserve the environment. In addition, HIMAGI also carried out cleaning up the ulanta river and garbage in Moutong Village as part of social service activities.
The Chairman of HIMAGI, Haikal Monginsi, said that this activity is a tangible manifestation of students' contribution in preserving nature. "Earth Day is an important momentum to foster awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. We hope that this activity will have a positive impact on nature and society," he said.
Through this activity, HIMAGI wants to instill the value of ecological concern among the younger generation and strengthen the role of students in the environmental conservation movement.
