Gorontalo - Geography education is an important aspect in increasing Indonesia's human resources; therefore, the quality of instructors must be improved through quality higher education. The Geography education study program at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo was established based on the Director-General of Higher Education's Decree number 2088D/T/2007 with A accreditation (BAN-PT, 2016) to produce superior geography education graduates. This is backed by skilled professors, graduates from well-known foreign and domestic universities in Indonesia.

The geography education study program Curriculum has established an independent campus (MBKM) curriculum to increase graduates' competency in both soft and hard skills relevant to science and technology. The curriculum is also adapted to the needs and potential of the region so that graduates are able to manage the potential of natural resources.

Students of the UNG geography education study program are scattered from within and outside the province of Gorontalo. The graduates are now widely spread and work under their fields as teachers, lecturers to other professional fields from within the country and abroad.[]
